So, let's play a game because we feel like some of these answers might shock you! Have you ever wondered how the bra first became a thing? Or when the first thong was invented? Or even the first suspender belt? Well, we're about to retell history just for you! So take your seats, get out your books and pens and be ready to learn! (oh, and PS No cheating!).
Bras
Question: When were bras invented?
Answer: Prototypes of the first bras were made and marketed in England, America, Germany and France from the early 1850s. Before this, the corset was seen to do the job of a bra, but thanks to doctors and feminists, the bra we know and love today was created to allow women to digest better and also breathe a lot easier.
Suspenders
Question: When were suspenders invented?
Answer: In the early 1800s suspenders became a staple in people's clothing drawers. Used for practical reasons by both men and women for holding up their stockings, these pieces were never seen.
Compared to now, where suspender belts are considered a must-have extra accessory to complete any lingerie set, they are still used to hold up stockings but we both know, they add that extra bit of spice when it comes to bedroom lingerie.
Thongs
Question: When were thongs invented?
Answer: Well, if we're being precise then ancient thongs have been around since approximately 42,000 BCE. Not the type of thongs you would find today, but never the less we thought we would share that with you! Anyway, the thongs that you know and love today are thought to have been around since 1939 when the mayor of New York, Fiorello La Guardia said nude dancers participating at the fair had to cover up.

Question: When was Prima Donna first founded?
Answer: Prima Donna Lingerie was founded in 1865. A small atelier opened its doors in Germany and catered to women of all shapes and sizes. However, they placed a special significance on providing fuller busted women with gorgeous and modern lingerie. By 1890 the atelier gained recognition and fame among its clientele, and it was considered a specialist corsetry brand.
Swimwear
Question: When was the bikini founded?
Answer: Swimsuits were invented in the mid-1800 but the two-piece bikini we're used to seeing these days, didn't make an appearance until 1964 when a French designer called Louis Reard created the first ever modern bikini, which featured less material than any of its predecessors. The bikini itself was named after a US atomic test during the war, so the first bikini was called, Bikini Atoll.
