15 tips for a fuller looking bust

16 December 2013

Many women dream of a fuller looking bust, especially as such a look can often boost confidence and finish off an outfit. Aside from drastic solutions, such as invasive surgery and breast implants, there are a number of other ‘less-costly’ ways to create the illusion of a larger bust.

1. Wear A Push-Up Bra

A push-up bra that comes complete with lined cups is a sure fire way to create the illusion of a larger bust. Opt for a bra with a firm strap as this will help to lift your bust from the front. There are a number of push-up bras available on the market today, some styles even promise to boost your cup size by up to two sizes, creating instant hourglass oomph.

2. Use Make-Up Tricks

Another way to create the illusion of an enviable silhouette is to use make-up. You will need to invest in a blush that is the same shade as your skin tone. Begin by brushing colour onto the upper curving outline of your breasts. For best results, use a thick brush and a side-to-side motion. It’s important to keep both sides even for a natural look. Once you’ve completed the first stage, using a thinner brush, apply a slightly lighter shade to the centre of your bust (where your cleavage forms). This technique may take a little experimentation but the end results are extremely impressive.

3. Choose The Right Clothing

Invest in tops that accentuate your breasts. Many think that round necks and plunging necklines create the appearance of a larger bust, yet they actually make the breasts look smaller. A tube top is a much better option, as whilst emphasising your shoulders and neckline, it will also reveal the fullness of your breasts.

4. Exercise: Palm Presses

There are a number of exercises you can do to create a fuller looking bust. One such exercise involves standing upright with your feet shoulder-width apart. When in this position, simply elevate your arms sideways and up to the level of your shoulders. Ensure your forearms are positioned directly in front of you for best results. Clasp your hands tightly and press your palms together. On doing this, you should feel a muscle contraction behind your breasts. Do three sets of 15 repetitions on a daily basis for maximum results.

5. Exercise: Wall Push-Ups

Another exercise guaranteed to increase the shape of your bust involves performing wall push-ups. You will need to stand directly in front of a wall, whilst extending both of your arms so that your palms rest against the surface. Take a breath in and then carefully lean your body towards the wall. As you exhale, slowly begin to bring your body back to the starting position. Repeat 15 times.

6. Use Water Inserts

Adding water or gel inserts to a push-up bra will instantly create the illusion of additional cleavage. Opt for a bra that boasts under wiring as such a style will add both lift and form.

7. Herbal Remedies

Although there is no scientific proof behind such remedies, many women believe that taking such supplements is a natural way to enhance the breast. Common herbs connected with breast enlargement include fennel, wild yam, saw palmetto and fenugreek.

8. Choose A Corset

Those who dream of possessing an hourglass figure can easily create such a look by investing in a corset. When choosing a corset, opt for tight lacing, a heavy satin material, boning and heavy duty cording. A plain corset is a much better option for those who wish to wear such an ensemble under another item of clothing. Plus corsets can add instant sex-appeal later on!

9. The Balcony Bra

In order to create the impression of extra curves, invest in a balcony bra. Such a style looks astounding when worn with a low cut top. They also come in a range of feminine styles and look extremely flattering on most body shapes.

10. Choose Patterns

If you have a tomboy figure, wearing dresses adorned with patterns, jewels or ruffles is a great way to create a fuller figure. The same rule applies when it comes to choosing a bikini or swimsuit.

11. Add A Touch Of Colour

As many will know, darker hues create the appearance of a smaller frame. If you wish to enhance your frame, opt for brighter colours and patterned garments. Avoid wearing anything too flouncy on your bottom half as this will take the emphasis away from your bust.

12. Accessorise

Longer chains and delicate jewellery work well to flatter a smaller bust, whilst a wide belt that nips in at the waist will create the illusion of a fuller top half.

13. Stripes

Horizontal stripes are a great investment, especially if you wish to create the look of enviable curves. However, it’s important to wear just the one garment in such a style. Wearing stripes all over will take away the emphasis from your bust.

14. Swimwear

When it comes to investing in a new bikini or a swimsuit, its important to consider your body shape. Those wishing to create the illusion of a fuller bust and wider hips should invest in patterned bikinis and ones that feature ruffles. Bandeau tops and halter necks tend to be the most flattering styles available.

15. Avoid Structure

It’s important to avoid wearing anything too structured, especially if you can’t fill it. It’s also wise to steer clear of overly padded bras as such a style can create an extremely unnatural look.

If you’re small busted or flat chested, there’s little reason to feel self-conscious, simply follow these tips and tricks, and remember, smaller chests are actually easier to shop for.
