Underwear as Outerwear

Would you rock the trend?

Belle 06 October 2017

It seems underwear as outerwear is here to stay but how many of us would actually rock it? It’s all over Instagram and the pages of fashion magazines but can normal women like me and you make it work? We’ll show you 4 ways you can brave the trend.

The Camisole

Now I know what you’re thinking, there’s no place for a camisole outside of the house but bloggers seem to make this trend work very well and still look appropriate! Take inspiration from the looks below and pair with jeans for those summer days or an oversized cardigan for when it’s colder.

This Lepel London Caitlin Camisole would look great paired with jeans and a long flowy cardigan, add some chic accessories and voila. You could also make the camisole fit in with your work attire by layering it over a smart shirt for a polished and stylish look.

The Bodysuit

Bodysuits are great at doing their job as shapewear and can make you look and feel sexy so why not extend that into everyday wear? This is probably the most wearable option and would look fantastic for a night out. Bodysuits accentuate your waist and give you the perfect figure, add some skinny jeans and a leather jacket and you’ve got cool girl chic. Here’s two ways you can wear one.

Take some style inspiration from Zendaya and wear the Gossard Superboost Lace Soft Body with pencil trousers and a velvet blazer, add some pearls and you’ve got your outfit sorted for a night out!

The Triumph Amourette Body is a fabulous piece and can be worn in many ways. The body features all over patterned black lace with light black lining for coverage. Take style tips from fashion blogger Sabrina and work it with a jacket and jeans for a cool and modern look.

The bralette

Bralettes were a huge summer trend and literally everywhere! They’re great for smaller busted ladies but a lot of you said they offered no support and weren’t practical for bigger busted women. So, how about getting in on the trend by layering on top of clothing? It’s a look that would work well for small and large frames as the use for the bralette is no longer to support your bust but to give your outfit a cool update.

This Wacoal Chrystalle Longline Bralette is a fabulous investment, it’s structured, made of lace and you can make it work as underwear and outerwear! Try it over a plain white t-shirt and some skinny jeans a la Kendall Jenner.

Have we inspired you to try and incorporate underwear in to your outfits? What are your thoughts on the looks? Let us know in the comments below ??
