Shockingly
around 80% of women are wearing the wrong sized bra which is simply crazy. It
is so important to not only wear the correct sized bra but also the correct
fitting bra and yes there is a slight difference. Annoying as it, different
brands, different ranges and different styles of bras can vary in size which is
why we strongly encourage our customers to check the fit even if they believe
they have got the right size. There are a few simple tips to check that your
bra is fitting correctly and you would be surprised the difference it can make
if followed correctly.
If the bust is bulging over the tops of the cups
or underarms of the bra then a higher cup size is needed.
If you can
fit more than two fingers (in height) under your bra straps, this means that
you need to tighten them. If you can’t fit two fingers underneath or you can
see red marks when you take your bra off, you need to loosen them slightly.
Having the correct tightness on your bra straps will not only give you added
support but it will help to lift your bust up.
The
underband of your bra should sit parallel. If it is riding up at the back this
means that your bra is too big and you need a lower band size. Women often make
the mistake of thinking this means their band size is too small but it is in
fact the other way around.
If you have
gaping at the tops of the bra cups or you notice wrinkling on the fabric of the
cups you may need to go down a cup size. If there is only a slight gap at the
top of the cups, tightening the straps slightly can solve this problem.
The centre panel of your bra should sit flat against your skin. If it rises above, then you need a higher cup size.
