Your body shape may have changed over this time and if you’re not careful, you can end up purchasing bras that don’t fit or flatter you.

So, before you go and get your credit card out, it’s well worth taking a few minutes - and that’s all you’ll need - to get your cup and back size.

Firstly, you’ll need to take your back size and secondly, you take your cup size. When you’re doing this, wear a well-fitting, unpadded bra.

Underband measurements

Your back size, also called your underband, is measured around your ribcage directly under your bust. If the measurement is an even number, add four inches to get your size and if it’s odd, add five inches.

Meanwhile, if your underband measurement is to half an inch, round it down to ensure a snug fit.

Cup size

When it comes to your cup, measure around to the fullest part of your bust. To get your size, take your underband size from your full bust size. To make your life even simpler, we’ve included a function on our website that will perform this calculation for you.
