BRA FITTING GUIDE

Your bra should look and feel great under your clothing and wearing the correct bra size plays a vital part in this. Not only does wearing the right sized bra make you feel more comfortable it also can improve your posture and create the appearance of smaller waist.Around 80% of women are wearing the wrong sized bra and don’t even realise. Knowing your bra size is important for so many reasons and whether you have small breasts or large breasts it is just as essential to make sure you are wearing the correct size.

BRA CALCULATOR

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR
BAND/BACK SIZE

Before you start make sure that you are wearing a non-padded bra. Using a tape measure, measure in inches around your rib cage directly under your bust and below the underwire of the bra. If you find that your measurement is between sizes then you need to round down the size, for example if you measure 30 1/2 inches then round down to 30 inches.

IF YOUR MEASUREMENT IS AN EVEN NUMBER- ADD 4 INCHES
IF YOUR MEASUREMENT IS AN ODD NUMBER- ADD 5 INCHES

This will calculate your band/back size. For example, if your band/back measures at 30 inches you will add 4 inches which would make you a 34.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR
CUP SIZE

Measure around the fullest part of your bust in inches ensuring that the tape measure is taught but not over stretched. When measuring your cup size you should always round up, so if you measure 34 ½ inches then round up to 35 inches. The number of inches difference between your band/back measurement and cup measurement will equal what cup size you are. Every inch difference equals one cup size up. For example:-

BAND SIZE 34 INCHES & FULLEST PART OF BUST 34 INCHES= A CUP
BAND SIZE 34 INCHES & FULLEST PART OF BUST 35 INCHES= B CUP
BAND SIZE 34 INCHES & FULLEST PART OF BUST 36 INCHES= C CUP

TOP TIPS

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
If the wires stand away from the body at the centre front or dig in at the underarm, a
larger cup size is needed.

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
If the bust is bulging over the cups at the neck edge and/ or the underarm then a larger
cup size is needed.

If the straps are digging into the shoulders, they are supporting too much weight of the
breasts and so the underband may not be giving enough support. A smaller back size
may be needed.

If the cups are wrinkling and there is space at the top and the sides of the cup, a
smaller cup size is needed.

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
If the cups lift away from the chest when the arms are lifted, then either a smaller back
size and/or a larger cup size is needed.

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
If the underband is riding up, the back size is too big.

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
If the band is uncomfortably tight and the hook and eye is straining, then the back
size is too small.

Belle Lingerie Bra Fitting Guide
It is quite common for a woman to have one breast bigger than the other. Sometimes
there is only a slight difference, but sometimes there is a cup size difference. It is
important to fit the bigger breast so that it is encased by the wire. The straps can be
adjusted so they are looser on the larger side and tighter on the smaller side to achieve
the best fit.
